Handmade
Handmade... what does handmade actually mean?
Recently I posted some pictures on my Instagram of my hands after working on 100+ bracelets. They are taped to reduce blisters from my tools and sore from the repetitive work. After posting those, it got me thinking about what handmade means for me. I am going to use my bracelets as an example.
When you order a bracelet from me, my hands use the computer to create the design.
My hands prepared the wood and readied the machine.
My hands took the wood from the machine and then cut and measured the suede.
My hands used pliers to fold the crimps, cut the chain and open and close several jump rings.
My hands took the bracelet and packaged it and finally my hands passed the finished piece to your hands.
When something is handmade that means my hands were involved in EVERY step of the process. When you buy handmade you are supporting the person guiding those hands and without that support those hands will never be used for their full potential.
Please buy handmade this season 🌷
